Entering service in 1935 the T35 heavy tank was outdated when it arrived. Armed with one 76mmL28 main turret, two 45mm gun turrets as well as two machinegun turrets this was a behemoth, with slow speed, high profile and mechanically unsound. In addition its heaviest armour was 30mm thick.
Its few combat actions during the battles of 1941 it did not cover itself with glory, and the vast majority broke down and were abandoned before they reached the battlefield.
