The T26 light tank was in service within the Russian Army from 1931 to the end of World War 2. Armed with a 45mm main gun and co/ax machinegun, over 10000 were produced in various models. Serving first in combat in the Spanish Civil War, against the Japanese in the late 1930s and both in Finland and in Poland, by 1941 the tank was outclassed by the German armour during Operation Barbarossa in June 1941.
The lack of radios masde the disadvantages of the tank crews worse, the only hand rail radio equipped T26s being Company and Battalion vehicles, as this model depicts.
