The Voroshilovets was developed in the late 1930's as a more powerful alternative to the Komintern prime mover but using the same T12 tank suspension. (1230 built in total) The tracked chassis was very useful in the Russian climate with its mud in the summer and snow in the winter. The Voroshilovets was widely used by Soviet forces during World War 2. It was used to tow the heaviest Soviet artillery pieces.
