The Tetrach, officially the ‘Light Tank MkVII Tetrach, was designed in the late 1930s but it was not used in British Armoured Divisions… the experiences in France in 1940 had doomed the light tank idea at the time.
They found a niche in the British Army within the Airborne forces as air portable in Hamilcar gliders, and we’re part of the Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment, seeing action in Normandy.
