The M8 Scott was designed as an armoured close support vehicle, based on the M5 Stuart chassis, with a 75mm howitzer. They were issued to HQ Companies of American medium tank battalions, and were widely distributed from 1943 to the end of World War 2 both in Europe and in the Pacific. Nearly 1800 were built.
