The LVT-4 was a troop and cargo armoured carrier, seeing service both in the Pacific Theatre and Europe, and earning a well deserved reputation as an effective vehicle, with excellent support firepower. This was the LVT used by the British in Europe from 1944 to 1945, and was particularly effective during the Walcheren campaign in the winter of 1944. Over 800 were produced by the end of the war.
