Designed as an anti aircraft vehicle, armed with 4 .50 calibre heavy machineguns it was nicknamed "The Meat Chopper" for its deadly firepower. The M16 was extremely popular with the troops. Used almost exclusively in the European Theatre, In addition to its anti-aircraft role, the M16 was used in an infantry support role. 2887 were produced during World War 2.
