The famous (or infamous if you were one receiving end) German dive bomber, over 6000 of which were produced a which flew over the battlefields of Spain in 1937 all the way to Berlin 1945. The terror of both infantry and armour in Spain and up to mid WW2 it became less effective (and vulnerable) as the war progressed, but gained a new lease of life on the Eastern Front as a tank destroyer.
