Also known as the MkIV the first tank was delivered in 1939. Armed with the 2 pounder main gun nearly 1000 were produced. Combat conditions revealed that the tank was too lightly armoured and prone to breakdowns. Nonetheless, the A13 was use in France and in the Western Desert before the survivors were withdrawn for training by late 1941.
